Fashion Design Courses in Dubai

Designers Collective Institute (DCI) teaches fashion design courses in Dubai at its campus in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT). Courses are KHDA-accredited and cover fashion drawing, design, styling, fabrics, bags and shoes, from a 12-hour drawing course to a 126-hour program.

There are separate classes for kids, teens and adults, and portfolio courses for students applying to fashion schools.

Fashion design courses for beginners

Fashion Design for Beginners

The classical methods of figure drawing and fashion sketching: proportion, anatomy, movement and garment visualisation. Available as 18 hours or 36 hours, and as a 40-hour Program Part 1 that takes you to finished fashion illustrations and the start of a portfolio.

Fashion Design Fundamentals

For complete beginners: fashion sketching, the basics of pattern making, fabrics and a first fashion project. Available as 40 hours or 60 hours.

  • Fashion Design Styling (36 hours) – colour theory, fabric selection, fashion history, trend forecasting and personal styling.
  • Fashion Design Mood Board (18 hours)
  • Fabric Skills (20 hours) – fabric types, handling, cutting, stitching, care and finishing.
  • The Fashion Fabric (40 hours) – fabric, colour, market and trends, for people already working in merchandising, textiles, styling or production.

Yes. There are fashion design classes for kids aged 8 to 10 and for teens aged 11 to 18, listed above.
