Focusing on 2D architectural and interior drawings, the course guides students through creating polished, print-ready projects for college applications, internships, or personal branding.   Course Outline: Lesson 1: Planning Your Portfolio

• What makes a strong design portfolio?
• Selecting a focus project
• Organizing content: Floor plans, elevations, and details
• Setting goals and layout format for the portfolio pages

Lesson 2: Floor Plan Development in AutoCAD

• Drawing and refining the main layout (walls, doors, windows)
• Applying layers, line weights, and hatching for clarity
• Preparing the drawing for presentation with annotations and labels

Lesson 3: Elevations and Sections

• Drafting interior/exterior elevations with materials
• Drawing sectional views to show space planning and details
• Adding human scale and furniture elements for depth

Lesson 4: Details and Annotation Techniques

• Drawing exploded details
• Dimensioning and labeling with professional standards
• Using title blocks, north arrows, and graphic symbols

Lesson 5: Page Layout & Composition

• Setting up layouts in paper space
• Creating viewports and organizing sheets for printing

Please note: Our portfolio courses are offered in flexible hour packages 40, 50, 60, 80, or even 100+ hours to allow students to progress at their own pace. It’s important to understand that these hour packages are a guideline. Completing a high quality portfolio may sometimes take more longer than the initial 40 hours, and students are welcome to book additional sessions such as 50, 60, 80, or more hours if needed. This way, each student can take the time they need to create a portfolio they’re truly proud of without feeling rushed.
