Course Description:

This course introduces teens to the basics of sewing through hands-on projects. Students will learn fundamental sewing techniques while creating a stylish tote bag and a small shirt. By the end of the course, students will have the skills and confidence to work on their own sewing projects.

  Lesson 1: Introduction to Sewing

• Overview of sewing tools and material
• Understanding fabric types and selection
• Safety guidelines and proper sewing posture
• Basic hand-sewing techniques: threading a needle, basic stitches

  Lesson 2: Getting Comfortable with a Sewing Machine

• Introduction to the sewing machine and its parts
• Threading and bobbin winding
• Practicing straight and curved stitches on scrap fabric
• Troubleshooting common machine issues

  Lesson 3: Tote Bag Project - Part 1

• Selecting and cutting fabric
• Understanding and using sewing patterns
• Pinning and preparing fabric for stitching
• Sewing the main body of the tote bag
• Adding decorative elements

  Lesson 4: Tote Bag Project - Part 2

• Attaching handles and reinforcing seams
• Final stitching and finishing touches
• Review and showcase of completed tote bags

  Lesson 5: Small Shirt Project - Part 1

• Understanding shirt patterns and fabric selection
• Cutting fabric pieces for the shirt
• Sewing the shirt
• Pressing and finishing seams

  Lesson 6: Small Shirt Project - Part 2

• Finishing hems and final stitches
• Quality check and adjustments

Our Patterns & Stitching courses are offered in flexible hour packages of 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, or even 100+ hours. This flexible structure allows students to learn and progress at their own pace. It’s important to understand that these packages serve as a guideline. Creating high-quality work often requires more than the initial 30 hours. Students are welcome to book additional hours (50, 60, 80, or more) to continue their learning and complete their projects without feeling rushed. Pattern cutting, stitching, and sewing—even for smaller garments or items—take time, attention, and practice. The more projects you wish to complete, the more hours you will need.   Note: Our courses are booked by hours, and producing excellent, professional-level work requires time, patience, and commitment.   Key Highlights:
