Throughout the lessons, students will develop their skills, enthusiasm and flair for Interior design producing scaled hand drawings and a presentation. Courses are given in Arabic, French, and/or English.

• COURSE OUTLINE

MODULE ONE: The heart of Interior design. Without much ado, dive straight into the essence of Interior Design. We’ll touch the many technical facets of Interior Design. What is a plan, and how do you read it? What is a façade and how to interpret it. What is elevation and perspective?

 

MODULE TWO: Hands On Learning how to use a scale ruler and how to take measurement. Practicing the architectural rules. How to organize and bend spaces to your needs. Applying acquired knowledge to toilet and kitchen plans in a real-life scenario simulation. Through a trial-and-error process, you’ll design, and we’ll correct until the best design is reached.

 

MODULE THEREE: Creativity. The soul of Interior Design. In this session, we’ll focus on the creative thinking that is the soul of Interior design. You’ll create a design for a studio room and retail shop. We’ll also handle the perspective approach.

 

MODULE FOUR: Technically deep. Assessing the materials. Learning the axonometric. Evaluating your creative approach of the studio based on the newly acquired knowledge.

 

MODULE FIVE: Technical forward / your homes Going forward to learn all the architecture tools. T-ruler, scale ruler, and architect ruler. We’ll use all of them to measure our designs. We’ll employ strict measurement to develop a bedroom design. Starting In this lesson, you will be able to review your own homes.

 

MODULE SIX: Design real life plans Designing a reception room from A to Y. Utilizing the measurements and drawing its plans, elevations, and perspective. This is a real-life example that will help you design your own homes.

 

MODULE SEVEN: Colors, fabrics, and furniture. Selecting colors for your interiors. Matching the fabrics with the furniture. Using those to design all the rooms of a house. We’ll experiment with some samples, before and after. We’ll devise and design the dining room, and kitchen.

 

MODULE EIGHT: Joining the parts, technical knowledge, and creativity part. We’ll work with the colors on different house entities. We’ll achieve a kitchen and master bedroom. Both will have a direct impact on your real-life home designs.

 

MODULE NINE: Styles of the past and the future Discussing the different interior styles, from the classic to the contemporary to the ultra-modern. We’ll mix them into your own home design, and we’ll witness their effect on your home plans based on your taste.

 

MODULE TEN: Material selection to your needs. Effect of the different materials on your home design and style. A house for kids has a definite distinct design than one for teens or adults. We’ll apply height levels for different styles of living.

 

MODULE ELEVEN: Lightings and space planning. Space intelligence and how to best squeeze an elephant into a Volkswagen car. Converse about the lighting function. Reflection on their effects on your home plans.

 

MODULE TWELVE: 2D Drawing and 3d Modeling with SKETCHUP. - Introduction to the SKETCHUP interface and learning the creation and modification tools. - Modeling a base geometry from a cad plan or a concept design. - Creation of complex ceiling and decorative walls. - How to create a basic furniture and how to import and modify a complex furniture. - Preparation of the model for exporting to render software.

 

MODULE THIRTEEN: Rendering an interior space.

 

MODULE FOURTEEN: technical report preparation We will explain and learn how to prepare the necessary documentation for an interior design projects such as: Material specification, Bill of quantity, Site planning, Site visit report

A Lebanese national with 22 years extensive expertise in teachings. Graduated as an interior architect from Kaslik University of beaux arts in Lebanon. She has been teaching interior and fashion design in Dubai for the last 22 years. Rita as an artist, participated in many local exhibitions. Her work appeared in the USEK magazine. She is particularly attracted to Greek culture. Rita speaks Arabic, English and French.
